Beidou Civil Demonstration Leading Innovation in the Freight and Logistics Industry

Unmanned agricultural machines working in the fields, fishing boats fishing in distant waters, navigation software in mobile phones... In more and more navigation and positioning scenes, there is the same Chinese core hidden - "Beidou". According to data released by the China Satellite Navigation and Positioning Association, by the end of 2020, the sales of domestic Beidou-compatible chips and modules had exceeded 1 million pieces, quarterly shipments exceeded 5 million pieces, the total social ownership of terminal products with Beidou positioning function exceeded 1000 billion units, and the domestic output value of the Beidou system industry chain reached 10.4033 billion yuan.

Since the Beidou satellite navigation system began civilian demonstration, the Beidou system has flown from the infrastructure serving China's national security to ordinary people's homes, to thousands of industries, and has been applied in more than 120 countries and regions around the world, embarking on a "last-come, first-come" road of China's industrialization.

Break through the "city wall" of Beidou industrialization with civil demonstration

The large investment in the construction of the satellite navigation system, the high operation and maintenance costs, and the size of its application scale and application level directly determine the economic and social benefits of the Beidou system, and the economic and social benefits are the key to the sustainable development of the Beidou system. Therefore, realizing large-scale civilian promotion and forming a strong Beidou industrial chain is the only way for the sustainable development of Beidou system.

However, when Beidou system has just started regional services, due to the small number of end users and few Beidou-related enterprises, the production cost of Beidou system terminal products remains high, and the price of a device is as high as two or three thousand yuan, which lacks competitive advantage compared with GPS system, which largely hinders the industrialization and application of Beidou.

Civil demonstration is a "key move" for China to promote the successful industrialization of the Beidou system. Since 90% of the civilian users of satellite navigation are concentrated in the transportation system, it is the first to promote and apply it in the road transport industry with more than <> million operating vehicles, which is conducive to the rapid realization of scale efficiency of the Beidou system and is of great significance to the industrialization and sustainable development of the Beidou satellite navigation system.

In October 2011, the Ministry of Transport and the General Armament Department jointly launched the implementation of the "Key Transportation Process Monitoring and Management Service Demonstration System" in Beijing, becoming the first civil demonstration project of Beidou satellite navigation system to be launched. The project involves "two passengers and one danger" transport vehicles (including chartered tours, long-distance shuttle buses and hazardous chemical transport vehicles), emergency support vehicles, heavy-duty general cargo vehicles and other key operating vehicles, through the Beidou system to improve the monitoring ability of overspeeding, fatigue driving, illegal operation and other violations of laws and regulations during the transportation process, improve the management level, reduce traffic accidents, improve economic benefits, and verify the performance indicators of the Beidou system. The project is called "demonstration within demonstration", carrying the high hope of exploring Beidou's new idea of "military-civilian joint construction, joint management, shared win-win".

"Urban development cannot be separated from three-dimensional space and time. Temporal and spatial information is the best reference and best record of urban development." Li Weisen, deputy director of the State Bureau of Surveying and Mapping, popularized his vision of a smart city from a professional perspective: Smart cities rely on modern information technologies such as the Internet of Things and cloud computing, supported by spatiotemporal information, to solidify human information into the construction, management, operation, service, and development of cities, forming intelligent operations that do not or rarely rely on humans

Beidou Xingtong Releases a New Generation GNSS Navigation and Positioning Chip

According to the relevant person in charge, in the field of centimeter level high-precision GNSS navigation and positioning technology, the Nebulas II (UC4C0) chip has reached international leading levels in technology, various indicators, and other aspects. The receiver board developed based on this chip can reduce its size by more than half.

Imported GPS equipment may be duty-free, and domestic industry faces challenges

According to media reports, US Trade Representative Michael Froman stated that China and the United States have made breakthroughs in negotiations to eliminate tariffs on information technology products. He expects these breakthroughs to lay the foundation for the Information Technology Agreement (ITA) negotiations to be held in Geneva at the end of the year. Froman said that China and the United States have reached an agreement on ITA expansion on the evening of the 10th, which will implement zero tariffs on various technology products, including GPS equipment. The other technology products mainly include medical equipment, video game consoles, semiconductors, and other new products.

The accuracy of the Beidou system built in 6 years is not inferior to GPS

At present, China has successfully launched 4 BeiDou navigation test satellites and 16 BeiDou navigation satellites. The second step of the "Three Step" strategy for the construction of BeiDou navigation engineering - the BeiDou satellite navigation regional network has been successfully achieved. The accuracy and level of the BeiDou navigation system in the Asia Pacific region is no less than that of the GPS global positioning system. He stated that China should accelerate the formulation and improvement of relevant policies for the navigation industry, and guide its orderly development.

China's BeiDou public service commitment won the International Civil Aviation Organization

According to the official website of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, Salvatore Shakitano, President of the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), recently replied to the Civil Aviation Administration (CAAC), explicitly accepting the commitment made by Feng Zhenglin, Director of CAAC, on behalf of the Chinese government, to make the BeiDou ("Beidou System" for short) public service to ICAO. This marks the official consensus between China and ICAO on the Beidou system serving global civil aviation applications, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent review and formal inclusion of Beidou system standards in ICAO standards, and ultimately achieving the Beidou system serving global civil aviation applications.
