Service Instance:

The offshore oil vessel Haiyang You 291 has been operating an IPTV satellite television system for 13 years. Due to the aging and frequent malfunctions of its electronic equipment, the system can no longer meet current operational requirements. To ensure the reliable reception of satellite TV channels and the proper functioning of the IPTV system onboard, this project proposes a comprehensive upgrade and retrofit of the vessel’s satellite‑based IPTV infrastructure.

IPTV server software:

The server software is an application built on the Linux operating system for IPTV services. It features a web-based management console that enables users to configure and manage a wide range of functions, including video-on-demand, live streaming, time-shifted TV, content publishing, emergency response, user management, and server administration. The system is feature‑rich and highly stable.

The server software enables administrators to log in to the management console from any computer on the local area network.

The server software supports an information‑override function and a system‑silence feature in the event of an emergency alarm on board. The system automatically switches all currently playing live and on‑demand programs to silent mode, muting all audio and replacing all video feeds with emergency alert screens. Once the onboard alarm signal is cleared, the system automatically resumes playback of the scheduled programs.

The server software provides end-user management capabilities, allowing administrators to grant or revoke access for individual users or groups to view specific program content.

The server software provides functions such as audio and video content upload and channel editing, offering users on-demand services. It also enables online storage of all live broadcasts and replay functionality, allowing users to access past programs from the same channel at any time via the time-shift feature; the duration of the time-shift is determined by the length of the stored recordings. The server software supports up to 60 concurrent users per server simultaneously viewing live or on-demand content. The onboard software can display a dynamic boot-up screen, enabling the playback of high-definition promotional videos for the vessel or safety‑education clips as the startup image. The IPTV system further supports multi‑level user management.
